about me
Erin Mackellin is Melbourne-based filmmaker, with a background in both Direction and Production Design, seamlessly blending narrative and aesthetics with a sense of childlike wonder.
As a child, filming on her Kodak Easyshare and editing bits of footage together sparked a passion for filmmaking. Her school teachers could never take her camera away from her, earning Erin a lunchtime detention.
Her short film, ‘the_fishbowl’ won Best Science and Technology Film at the Cannes World Film Festival as well as winning Best Original Story at the Los Angeles Film Awards.
Her love for aesthetics and architecture lead her to working as a Production Designer.
Her work includes, the feature film, ‘Westgate’ which premiered at MIFF 2025 and screened at SXSW Sydney 2025, earning her an APDG nomination for Emerging Designer for a Screen Production Award category.
She designed 'The Expert' TVC which was one of the five finalists in the Specsavers x Flickerfest Competition 2026. She has two features slated to release later this year that she designed, Ramblin' and Paper Doll.
Erin is currently in Pre-Production for her upcoming short film, Circumference as a Writer/Director, along with some long form projects in the works.
