about me
Erin Mackellin is a filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia.
As a child, filming on her Kodak Easyshare and editing bits of footage together sparked a passion for filmmaking. Her school teachers could never take her camera away from her, which earned Erin a lunchtime detention.
Her short film, ‘the_fishbowl’ won Best Science and Technology Film at the Cannes World Film Festival as well as winning Best Original Story at the Los Angeles Film Awards.
Her love for aesthetics and architecture lead her to working as a Production Designer and in the Art Department in the Film Industry. With years of experience, Erin has worked on a variety of mediums; including the upcoming feature film, ‘Westgate’, as the Production Designer.
Her work primarily focuses on youth, mental health and nostalgia.
Erin has a strong sense of childlike wonder and uses it to her advantage whilst creating. When she isn’t on set, Erin is probably staying up until the early hours of the morning researching maps, development projects and theories about the universe.
Erin is currently working on her next short film as a Writer/Director, along with some long form projects in the works.
